📧 DAY 7 – Know What You Do Well... and Do More of It
Your best golf comes when you stop pretending and start performing.
Trying to hit shots you’ve never practiced is a recipe for disaster. Your identity as a player matters.
Build your game around your strengths:
Stick to your routine.
→ Confidence comes from repetition, not magic.Play YOUR shot shapes.
→ Can’t draw it? Don’t try until it’s consistent on the range.Own your key distances.
→ How far does each club fly (not roll)?
→ Get really good from 50 yards in.Short game focus.
→ Your average first putt is likely 35–40 feet, get obsessed with lag putting.
→ Get REALLY good at chipping and adjusting to the variables around the green.
✍️ My personal story:
I used to be obsessed with swinging like the pros. I wanted to swing like Rory, big turn, powerful release, perfect finish. But chasing that actually led me to injury. My body just couldn’t move like that, and honestly, it pulled my focus away from what really mattered: learning how to score.
Scoring happens when you keep the ball in play off the tee, hit a few greens, and get really sharp from 50 yards and in. Oh and avoid those three-putts. That’s when scores start dropping.
Little by little, I stopped trying to copy someone else and started working on a swing that worked for me. And once I paired that with better course management, my game started to make real progress.
The whole goal of this 7-day recap is to help you see that your swing will always be a work in progress but that doesn’t mean you have to wait to get better. There are things you can start doing right now to shoot lower scores.
đź’ˇ Key insight:
You don’t need every shot. You just need your shots and to play them like you believe in them.
🌀 Reflect and Reset:
What are 2–3 things you do really well in golf? How often are you building your round around those strengths?
That’s a wrap!
If you’re still here after these 7 days, Thank you. I’ve truly enjoyed putting this together, but it only matters if it’s helping someone on the other side.
If any part of this series helped you, it would mean a lot if you shared it with someone who might benefit too.
I’ll be posting all 7 days on my website soon. And one last thing, if you could take a second to click this form and just let me know if you learned something, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks again for being part of this!
